This boat is getting too small for all the people in it.

Okay, so I've got the same problem (updating XP Home on a Dell 4150 to
XP Pro); I used the taskmgr.exe trick to get by the original error, but
then when the setup finishes, I get this error message: "Error code:
0x80004005" and it says that Windows cannot finish the registration
process.

Bigger problem: this is my girlfriend's computer and if she thinks that
I killed it, then it's sofa-sleeping for me from now on.
