My win xp has crashed. I have a dual boot system with two
hard drives. Win 98 is working fine. My system crashed
when I was writing a CD using NERO software. Once I was
able to start in safe mode but system lost stability. I
have tried everything, using recovery console, including
disabling devices and services. The boot records are OK.
When I try to start in safe mode all dll files and drivers
load correctly and there is no error message. After the
last driver mup.sys loads the system hangs, thereafter
there is no disk activity. I have a old backup of my XP
system on the same hard disk on a different partition with
the ASR floppy disk. This backup is four months old.
Please advice how can I salvage my win XP system.
