hi mike thanks for the reply to my question the other day, unfortunately I am none the wiser. quickly again i had to replace my hard drive and when i installed the operating system i partioned the hard drive. Disc management shows the partioned disc as un-allocated but its properties show it is working properly. I have tried to follow the instructions from help but I cant follow them for e.g. under formatting basic volume it starts XOX which I have no idea what that means. I am having the same problem with my removable tray hard drive and to top matters off "my computer' which is not registering the unallocated partioned drive or the removable tray drive, lists the A drive (floppy), which I dont have. Obviously I am doing something very wrong but I have no idea what
any suggestion would be appreciated
regards
