Hi Cari,
I take solace, but no satisfaction, in the realization that even experts
share my pain and frustration.
Your notes have been helpful, as well as humorous (in a "gallows" sort of
way).
You may hear from me again -- I'm sure my printer problems are far from
over. If you're not here, well, thank you very kindly for your patience and
assistance!

Thanks, Alex

I'll still be here (or thereabouts) next week and next month (hopefully!)
Had to get my drivers from Canon's European website for my 64 bit Vista PCs
(Canon USA politely told me Vista 64 bit edition wasn't a currently
supported O/S??!!!) and the 32 bit CD politely told me I wasn't an
Administrator on my own notebook.
Sometimes you just end up wishing you'd never heard of the word PC, and what
you'd really like to call them isn't politically correct at all!
