Re: fax problems with Windows XP Pro and Outlook 2007 database

I will have to give that a try and get back to you. Normally when I am
sending out faxes I send out many. This could range from as few as 10-15 to
as many as 100 or more. I can tell you that the program worked flawlessly on
my old computer which also used the XP Pro operating system but I had Outlook
2000 on that computer and not 2007

XP Fax has never supported sending to multiple recipients despite

send to just 3 or fewer recipients, what happens? I see no indication that
Outlook is in play here.

Sorry for the confusion. When I open a word file and select print and
then
choose fax the program does open. As I go through the steps that follow a
drop down box allows me to select any and all of my outlook contacts.
This
tells me that the fax program is finding them. I can select as many or as
few contacts as I want and when I click the next box all the names and
numbers show up on the fax program like they are supposed to. Up to this
point everything is working they way it should. Here is where the
problems
start. When the contacts have been selected and I click the send fax box
the
fax program then disappears and nothing happens. The word file is still
open
but that is all. For curiosity I then opened the fax program on its own
to
see if there were any outgoing faxes pending and usually there are none or
only a very small few of the ones I actually selected. The last time I
tried
to send a fax I selected 10 contacts, the program didn't start sending
anything and when I opened the program on its own to see if the contacts
were
there, only 2 showed up and the program wasn't sending them. Like I said,
the problem seems to start when I click the send fax box and then the fax
program shuts down and disappears.

Your post is too unclear. Let me make sure I understand what you're
trying
to say. When you open the Fax program using Word's Print command, do all
of
your Outlook Contacts appear as expected? What do you mean by "the
program
doesn't open at all?" If you are selecting your fax recipients, that
suggests the fax program is already open. Clarify what isn't opening and
what isn't happening that should.

When I open the fax program directly my extire outlook contacts list
(including the subfolders I set-up) are all available to select. Of
course
if I generate a generic fax flyer in word 2007 I have to open it in
word
in
order to send the fax to whomever I want but that is where my problems
start
as described below. If I open fax on its own it doesn't allow you to
add
an
attachment to the recipients I want to send the fax to. Do you have
any
other suggestions?

Specify what Contacts you see when you open the Fax program directly
instead
of programmatically. You appear not to have configured the correct
Outlook
Contacts Folder as the default for your OS. Once you do, XP Fax will
use
those Contacts.
The integration of Outlook 2007 with the fax module is the same in XP
as
in
Vista. Nothing was changed there.

I recently purchased a new Dell computer. The operating system is
Windows
XP
Pro. I also purchased the OEM version of Microsoft Office 2007
(small
business) I have used the XP fax program before with no problems
but
with
older versions of Microsoft Office. I use Microsoft Word alot and
typically
generate flyers that I send to customers that I have been saving in
my
Outlook address book. When I open a word file and select print, the
drop
down box appears that allows me to select a printer or the fax
program.
I
select fax and the program opens normally as I'm used to. When it
promps
me
to select a recipient I click the tab that accesses my Outlook
database
and
selct the recipients I want. I keep moving forward and everything
up
to
this
point is working perfectly until I get to the final tab that allows
me
to
send the fax. Normally, the program screen opens and the program
loads
all
the recipients in the pending box. Instead, the program doesn't
open
at
all
and I have to go to the program file screen to open the fax program
and
only
a very small amount (if any) of the recipients I chose are lised and
it's
like the whole fax program is in pause mode. I suspect some kind of
setting
or compatibility issue between Outlook 2007 and the XP Pro fax
program
but
I
don't know what. I used this program with a previous version of
Outlook
(2003) with no problems whatsoever. Any help that you can provide
would
be
greatly appreciated. One last comment I have. One person I spoke
to
said
that Outlook 2007 was designed to work hand in hand with Vista and
that
the
fax program might not properly recognise my Outlook data base
because
of
this. Is there any truth to this?

Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide.
