Although you *can* customize separator pages (search for "custom separator page"), I don't believe it's possible to include the file name. If it is possible, it isn't straightforward.
On the other hand, Word can print information that is similar to the system-generated separator pages, and this may do what you want. Go to File > Page Setup. On the "Paper" tab, click "Print Options" and under "Include with document" check the box for "Document properties." This will print the document's summary information on a separate page after printing the document. Word stores summary information on the Summary tab (File menu, Properties command).
If you are talking about printing the file name at the top of the first page of actual content (which is the default in Notepad, for example), then what you need to do is to look up "header" in the help for each specific application that you are printing in (obviously, you won't be able to modify pdf documents unless you have Acrobat Professional). For example, Notepad provides the following info (between lines of ******)
*****************
To create a header or footer
On the File menu, click Page Setup.
In the Header or Footer box, type the letter and character combination from the following table.
To: Insert the open file's name or (untitled) if the file has no name. Type: &f
To: Insert the date. Type: &d
To: Insert the time specified by your computer's clock. Type: &t
To: Insert page numbers. Type: &p
To: Insert an ampersand (&). Type: &&
To: Align the header or footer to the left, center, or right. Type: &l, &c, or &r

actually, I should say that I'd like to print the file name of the document on the first page when printing it.

Thanks in advance.
