Alan, I am having a similar problem. How do I determine the Queue name ?

Another question,
Is there a work around, like:
1) creating a TCP/IP port manually, not using the wizard (possibly by
creating a new port type that just happens to be a TCP/IP port) if so
how
would I do this ? (it asks for a printer INF)
2)re-direct an alreay existing port to the IP address (I only have an
IP
address and don't have it as a network address, i.e.
nextworkplace\printername, if I need this how do I turn an IP address
into
a
network address)
3)any other work around ??

I am indeed trying to create a standard TCP/IP port. None of
the
following
files are in the windows\system folder, they are all in the
windows\system32
folder
Wsnmp32.dll, Ntprint.dll, Tcpmib.dll, Mgmtapi.dll, or
Snmpapi.dll
file
should I be looking for any other files? Any other ideas?

I have been attempting to install an HP printer on my home
network.
It
has
an IP address (which I can access via a brower, so the
connection is
fine),
but when I try to install the printer, either using HP
installer
software,
or
manually using XP add a printer, or even creating a new
TCP/IP
port
for
an
existing printer, windows always experiences en error and
crashes
(not
full
crash). This happens on both my laptop and desktop (both
running
XP),
I
have seen a few posts on other sites saying others have
observed
this,
but
no
solution to the windows problem. Any ideas for why
windows has
this
error
everytime, or how to fix, or even a work around?? Any help
appreciated.
