Try these 3 experiments and report results (in detail, please):

1. Create a fax as you have been doing. Go through the Send Fax wizard as usual. When you get to the "Schedule" page, schedule the fax to be sent 10 minutes in the future. Complete the Send Fax Wizard. Now open the Fax Console. Is your Fax in the Outbox? Double click on it. Can you see your cover page and the page(s) you wanted to fax? Close the view. Wait until the scheduled time. Does the Fax Monitor open and indicate a fax is being sent? Did the entry move from Outbox to Sent Items?

2. Using a different telephone (e.g., your cell phone), dial the number of the telephone line to which you have connected your fax modem. Do you hear ringing over your cell phone? Does the computer make a "ring" sound? Click on the appropriate button to answer the fax (or before you start, configure Fax Services to automatically answer after 2 rings). Do you hear fax tones over your cell phone?

3. Open Fax Console. Click on File | Send a fax. Go through the Send Fax wizard (you are creating a single-page fax). For the telephone number use your cell phone number. Make sure that "Use dialing rules" is UNchecked, and enter your cell phone number in the space for "fax number" EXACTLY as you would dial your cell phone from your home phone (i.e., if you would dial a 1 and/or an area code, include that information). Finish the Send Fax Wizard. Does your cell phone ring? Answer it. Do you hear fax tones?
