Not really. Your problem seems to be intermittent.
As a first try, I'd remove the modem card, clean the connector and reseat
it, making sure that it is completely seated in the MBD connector.

I m having this problem when tried to fax "Error 678" (no "hand shake").
But
this error would go off during some sessions. This shows there is no
problem
with the modem card.
