Well, I don't have a Lexmark printer ... rather have a Dell A940 All-In-One. I have just tried 1) checking all connections and cables; 2) unstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver for this printer; and 3) booted and rebooted ad nausem. Nothing seems to work.
If anyone else has any ideas, they will be greatly appreciated.
I believe that the Dell A940 IS a Lexmark printer -- or at least some A940s were Lexmarks. Perhaps you installed the Lexmark driver rather than the Dell driver. This may have happened if you let Windows detect the printer and pick the driver to install rather than explicitly installing the driver first.
See this old (2003) thread on the Dell forum: http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=A940&message.id=1345&query.id=109651#M1345
