There doesn't seem to be much information about this subject on the
web.
I am running a Windows XP SP2 HOME wired network of desktop machines
with a wireless DSL modem, Linksys wired router and I just recently
attached an iogear GPS21U single port USB print server to the network
with my HP officejet 5510 all-in-one printer. The print server works
fine on all of the wired network machines. The problem is that I use
my laptop wirelessly and the print server is supposed to have a web
utility for remote printing via IPP.
I have gone into the router and enabled port forwarding to the IP
address of the print server on port 631 as instructed. The
instructions say "Click Add a printer from your printers and faxes
window to begin. Select the option to connect to a printer on the
internet and type in the full IPP address as shown (http://print
server
ip:631/lp1). You must use the external or WAN, IP address of your
router, specify port 631 and queue name lp1 in lower case...."
I assume it would like like this http://default gateway ip/print
server
ip:631/lp1 or http://default gateway ip:631/print server ip/lp1
I tried both ways and using just the print server ip:631/lp1.
Nothing
has worked. I'm sure there's something simple I'm missing. Can
anyone
help?

to show that I was typing in the ip addreses of each.
