Even before I read your reply, it came to me in half-sleep last night: to
change the NAME of the printer on the host computer. That's it -- it works!
Then I read your reply and saw your comment about spaces in the printer's
name. (I changed the name from Canon MP600 to Canon). Works like a charm
now.
However, unless I missed it in the small print somewhere and on the web,
there is no mention of this. That's depressing. All I read in a thousand
articles (?) was the simple "sharing" radio button, same Workgroup, and all
that general stuff. But.... it works. Maybe I can solve the rest of the
world's problems while half asleep! And thanks for your kind reply. You
MVPs are totally cool.
