If you search for Winprint.drv on the Internet, you will find that you're
not the only one with this problem.
I think this file is a component of old versions of Windows and not part of
Windows XP. My guess is that the driver is just not designed to work with
Windows XP. You must find a driver that is targeted for the specific
operating system you are using.
What model of printer is this? You can usually find the most up to date
drivers on the manufacturer's web site. The driver that comes on CD with the
printer is usually out of date, even if the printer is a new model.
We must also consider the possibility that it is Publisher that is causing
it. Does it occur in Notepad? Can you print a Test Page? What version of
Publisher do you have?

I had to uninstall my printer and after reinstalling when using
Publisher I get The message "cannot find WINPRINT.DRV and the printer
won't print I can't find the driver file anywhere can anyone help
