Yes, the PC needs a dialtone to send a fax. Faxes go through telephone
lines; they are sent by fax machines which connect to telephone lines and
are received by other fax machines which are also connected to telephone
lines. Fax machines are NOT connected to the Internet, so you cannot use a
broadband Internet connection to send one unless you hire an Internet
E-Faxing service (for money!). If your PC has an analog Fax modem, connect
a phone line to it. If your PC does NOT have one, you'll need to get one
and install it (then connect a phone line to it.) If your broadband service
is DSL, you'll need to get a DSL line filter suitable for connecting a
standard telephone to the DSL line and connect the Fax modem to the DSL line

Hey gang,
I want to send fax's from my pc.followed the steps ie goto communications
and into fax console,the pc needs a dial tone to send the fax???
Is it as easy as just conecting a phone line into the pc and not into my
broadband device,and then what do I do.....
