Re: Faxing a Word document using a fax modem via Microsoft Fax

Just do what I said. Dismiss the Word Fax Wizard. It is a relic. Use the Windows XP Fax Fax dialog. It will work.

OK, now I know what you are talking about. Yes, I tried using the Print
dialog box and that generates the same error message, because the "Send Fax
Wizard" that is a part of Microsoft Fax still opens. Printing to the FAX
Printer does NOT open the Word "Fax Wizard" - note "Send Fax Wizard" (from
Microsoft Fax) and "Fax Wizard" (from Word) are two different things. You may
want to re-read my original question below for clarification. But as I
stated, this is not a Word Issue, it's a Microsoft Fax issue.

There actually is a Print to Fax, it just doesn't go by that name. One of
the printer choices Word will offer you is the Fax printer, hence "print to
fax" means print the document using the fax printer. Haste machine ever
successfully sent a fax by any of the available methods?

Yes.

DO you have the
latest drivers for the modem and is it accepted on the Hardware
Compatibility list:

Yes.
