Yes, it can. Also, you may have a mismatch between versions of the driver.
(One driver is a full driver, the other is a "stripped down" version
supplied with windows.)
Since the client and server versions of windows are not identical, the
likely hood of different driver versions is increased.

I have the following situation:

- Windows 2003 R2 server (English)
- HP laserjet 4200 driver (installed on server)
- Windows XP Professional SP2 (DutcH)

I configured the driver settings on the server at the advanced/printing
defaults and at the general tab/printing defaults.

When I connect to the shared printer, the printer settings on General tab
are all reset to default settings (on the client that is). The result is
that
the client is ignoring the settings (tray and format setting) and the
output
is wrong.

I like to know if the difference between the client OS and the server can
cause these problems?
