Envelopes are in fact two sheets of paper. The upper sheet is drawn faster
into the printer then the lower ***. So the upper *** is pushed against
the printhead.
Solution: maybe you should use a better quality of envelopes or try to clean
the paper-transport.

Hi allHave
Have noticed smudging (black ink ony) when printing on ALL envelopes with
(Canon pixma ip4000), but it does't happen when printing on *** paper.
followed the maintenance procedure but to no avail. This is not a big
problem but am curious to know why it happens when printing on envelopes
ONLY. Thanks for any helpful response.
