I too am having the same problem with my psc1215. It always gives the
very unhelpful "System error" message with no further information
when trying to print; but it scans without any problem !
I think the problem could be because I did not install it properly - I
plugged it in before running the install disk (this is an install on a
second computer, so I did not have the install poster with me).
Anyway, I have tried uninstalling and re-installing several times with
no luck, but I was wonderring how critical the disconnecting of the
printer when uninstalling is. Does it have to be physically
unplugged, or is it good enough to just turn it off on the printer
(not mains) ?
Any help on this problem generally would be much appreciated, as we
are currently without a printer because of this.
TIA

Yes, the printer was disconnected from the PC before removal
of the software,
in fact the software prompts you to remove it as part of the
removal process.
The only change I can think of was the addition of the
Logitech Webcam
however I have since tried disconnecting that and uninstalling
it's software
followed by uninstalling and re-installing the HP software;
all with no
success.
