Error printing to/reinstalling network HP 5si printer

Hoping someone can help me out here. I've got a PC running XPpro
connecting to a HP5si on a Win2003 server. It has worked fine for a
while but then just stopped printing to it. The PC has other network HP
printers it prints to without problems. The weird thing is when I go to
the properites of this printer it pops up a message that says "The
'HP5si' printer driver is is not installed on this computer. Some
printer properties will not be accessible unless you install the
printer driver. Do you want to install the printer driver now?" I say
yes and it installs the printer driver without error (I always have it
overwrite the existing driver). When I click "Print test page" it
immediately comes up and tells me there was an error printing to the
printer and do I want to start the troubleshooting steps. I've
completely removed the printer and tried reinstalling and still get the
same senario. In my troubleshooting I noticed that the TCPIP port
doesn't go away when the printer is deleted, so I tried to delete it.
It tells me I can't delete it because its still in use. When I look at
the list of ports, even though the printer is deleted it still shows
that its connected to this port. I've tried restarting the print
spooler and rebooting and no matter what I try that port stays there
with the printer that I deleted still showing that its connected to it
(and no, the printer never comes back and shows up in the list of
printers on the PC). Does anyone know of a way to manually remove the
TCPIP port, as I believe/hope that this is where the whole problem
lies. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and Thanks in advance for
the Help,
Mike
