']OK, here's a quick test:
1. Open a command (DOS) prompt.
2. Type: "copy con LPT1" (without quote marks) then hit Enter.
3. Type: "This is a test" then hit Enter.
4. Hit Ctrl+Z (should show as ^Z on the screen) and hit Enter.
The words "This is a test" should print on the printer. What the above
does
is create a small block of text and send it to the printer connected to
the
LPT1 port. If it works, suspect the DOS program; if it doesn't, post
back
what does or doesn't happen.

I have a computer that used to be able to print from DOS Application
in
WinXP.
I don't know what happen to make it stop working, the user said
nothing

Hi Hal,
The thing is that it was working for months and it just stop working
and
the User has no clue as to what might have change to cause it to
stop
working ...
it's a directly attacted printer HpDJ540(ithink that was what it is)
on
LPT1
Prints from Windows just fine as normal... tried uninstalling and
then
installing new.. manually not using the auto detect process to see if
I
missed something.
