OK, here's a quick test:

1. Open a command (DOS) prompt.
2. Type: "copy con LPT1" (without quote marks) then hit Enter.
3. Type: "This is a test" then hit Enter.
4. Hit Ctrl+Z (should show as ^Z on the screen) and hit Enter.

The words "This is a test" should print on the printer. What the above does
is create a small block of text and send it to the printer connected to the
LPT1 port. If it works, suspect the DOS program; if it doesn't, post back
what does or doesn't happen.

Hi Hal,

The thing is that it was work for months and it just stop working and
the User has no clue as to what might have change to cause it to stop
working ...
it's a directly attacted printer HpDJ540(ithink that was what it is) on
LPT1
Prints from Windos just fine as normal... tried uninstalling and then
installing new.. manually not using the auto detect process to see if I
missed something.
