same cable i used with the last printer i had-- which died...is using the
same cable ok? i believe i installed the driver after i was given this
printer. i don't know how to check if the driver is good for xp, can you

What drivers are you using for the printer? are they specifically for XP?
Were the drivers installed and then the printer?
Since you don't know how to access BIOS, I'll stay away from there at
this
point.

hi chuck,i
the laptop is usb, the printer is a parallel port. i am using the
cable
had on my older hp printer. The cable was purchased on ebay, and is notthe
best quality.i
I do not know how to get into BIOS, but if it is easy for you to
explain,
would be willing to give your suggestion a try.with

i hope someone can help. a friend gave me a HP deskjet 960cthere
printer.
is 10% of the black ink left. before i invest the money in a newdocument,
ink
cartridge, i wanted to make sure all is working well. but it is
not...
the printer prints a test page just fine. but for any other word
it only prints the very first line. any suggestions? or do you
think
could be because the ink is low? thanks in advance
