SLOW RESPONSE TO START PRINTING

running windows xp, sp2, printing from microsoft works, hp 1210 all-in-one
printer. go thru print command and it takes 45 to 60 seconds for printer to
respond. other programs start printing within 10 seconds. i have removed
and reloaded microsoft word. any ideas
