USB to Parallel (and serial) adaptors don't work with all devices. Getting
a PCI parallel port card is definitely a good option. Here's one, for

I recently bought a Dell computer with Windows XP. I have a Roland DG Camm

Vinyl cutting machine that hooked up to my old computer via the parallel

on the computer. On my new computer, there is no parallel port. Just 4 USB
Ports. I bought a Belkin USB/Parallel adapter plugged it in and changed
the
port to USB in the properties of the vinyl cutter. It's installed, no
problem
there, but no matter what I do, it just simply will not cut anything out.
The
machine whirls to life like it's going to cut something, but that's it.
I've
tried every possible setting, tried changing the USB port the cable was
in,
tried uninstalling and reinstalling properly and all to no avail. Could
anyone out there shed some light on this issue for me? I read in a
previous
thread with someone having similar issues that they get a PCI to Parallel
Port Controller Card. Is this something I should look into buying?? Any
ideas
would be incredibly helpful.
