Canon S200 Printers

I bought a Canon S200 X in Europe. It has recently been printing pale
pages with an ugly dotty look to them. i wanted to see whether a
software upgrade would help. On looking at the Canon site, I can only
find the Canon S200 listed; without the "x" at the end. Does the US
model have a slightly different reference number? In other words,
perhaps the S200 X in Europe is the same as an S200 in America?
I have put in new cartridges, run the in depth cleaning process, but
it is still looks nasty. It is a USB printer by the way. Thanks for
any suggestions!
