How do I find out if the USB port is set to sleep? I went to the device
manager and all I found in the properties were driver properties.

Check your USB ports in the Device Manager properties. They are
probably set to sleep when not in use to save power.

Trying to print from an XP computer to a printer that is connect to a
2000
computer. Add the printer (HP Photosmart) is no problem. It seems
that I
can print right after I log onto the XP machine. But, after about 15
minutes, I'll get a message like "Windows cannot print due to a setup
problem..." Other times it says, the print spooler service is not
running
when it is.
It seems that if I don't print something every couple of minutes the
connection goes to sleep. All I can think of is to either lock the
computer
and unlock it, log off then log back on, or stop the print spooler
service
and then restart it. The only thing that seems to work every time is
if I
log off and log back on, which is also time consuming.
It would be helpful if there was a way to not have to refresh all of
these
items throught the day. Please Help!
