Tom,

I followed your instructions in order, and I still have the problem.

There are no bent pins on the cable, printer or PC. I have not replaced the
printer cable. This cable does work on the old PC.

Could the parallel port on the machine be faulty? Is this something Dell
would have checked before shipping?
