Changing NT printer perms on server with XP--get security error

when I change the permissions of an NT4 network printer
from an XP Pro machine and go to print server to look at
printer properties, click on Security, I get "Operation
could not be completed. The parameter is incorrect." The
only way to clear this has been wipe out printer and re-
add. Any ideas? Fault of XP? Thanks.
