Are you using Microsoft Standard TCP Port or HP Standard TCP Port. If you
are using HPs, create Standard TCP/IP Port using the same settings as the HP
Ports. Then switch to Standard Port. (You may need to remove the HP
Standard Port) If anyone here knows anything about DCOM gladly speak up.

If you do have HP Standard Port , be sure to check on the HP website for
this error.

Server Standard 2003. Also, a HP 3500 Color Laserjet with a Jet Direct card
providing a presence on the network. I ran the HP cd on all 4 machines and
they saw the printer and installed it. All the machines see each other and
all the machines can print to the Laserjet. However, all 4 machines have the
same error in the event viewer relating to a DCOM error "trying to activate
the server" to each respective unique computer name on the network. This
error creates a lot of network traffic as it occurs every 30 seconds or so.
Any thoughts on a solution?
