Re: "Open" box in photo or email programs

Thanks Yves,

That solved it. I didn't look far enough on the last try.

1. Double click on the folder name you want so you open the folder.
2. Click on the icon "Views" (last icon on your top bar).
3. A list will open, click on Details at the bottom of this list.
4. What you should see now is a list of your files under columns with the following headers: Name, Size, Type, Date modified, etc.
5. Click on any of these column headers. If you click on Name, the file are sorted by name. If you click on Size, the files are sorted by size, etc.

They are in order by last modified listed last. But this is only when viewing the folder that comes up when trying to open a file. In that view of the folder there is no "Name" or "Detail" choice.

How are the files listed? Any kind of order? Are they listed by Date, Size, etc?
If you use the Details listing view and you click on the column header "Name" do you get alphabetical listing? Maybe you do get alphabetical listing but it is in descending instead of ascending order. This can happen by accidental clicking as you work, just click on Name again to change from descending to ascending.

When I go to open a photo in a photo program, or attach a photo in an email program, the usual box opens up, where I can browse to the correct folder. Starting about a week ago, the files in the folders I look in are no longer in alphabetical order. This, happens even though I have made sure that the files in those folder are set to "view by name".
Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks

Alex
