Would pictures that are in a temporary internet folder show up in Picture
Manager? If we delete them out of Picture Manager, will they be deleted out
of temp internet folder? Which is the dominant location, Picture Manager or
Temp Int folder? I know the pictures in Picture Manager were not from the
temp interent folder, but were in My Pictures and when I deleted them from My
Pictures, they still were sitting in Picture Manager. And why doesn't
Picture Manager show all the pictures she has in her My Pictures folder? The
link that you included sends to an overview page with 4 sections and each
section has many articles within it. Can you please tell me under what
heading to look to find my answers, or send me the link to the exact page
within all that that I may find what I need.
Thank you.

OK. So the computer is new and has XP on it and the deal included Office.
2007. Rare deal but glad you have it. The two (XP screensaver and Picture
Manager) are not connected. With XP, you can set the screensaver to what you
want (apparently you are using the default, My Pictures and this is fine).
You use Picture Manager differently, as describe here:

Possible that the pictures you are talking about were downloaded from the
Internet and are sitting in Internet Temporary file folder or where received
via e-mail but not saved and so they are still in some temporary subfolder?

It is a new Dell compuer, she has XP (we specifically requested XP, not
Vista) and we ordered the latest Office setup, so it has Office Pro on it
or
something like that, it has Word 2007, so I am figuring the rest of the
package is 2007? How is this an important point? My question is about
the
working relationship between My Pictures folder and the Picture Manager.

If your mother purchased a new computer, there is no way that this new
computer came with Office 2007 installed on it.
The "what gives" problem you are describing cannot be connected to Office
2007 since she would have to purchase this, install it and register it.
She
did not do this. Take a look again at what is happening.

My mother got a new computer with Office 2007. She deleted some
pictures
from her My Pictures folder and they still remained in Picture Manager.
Then
we noticed some pictures in her My Pictres folder do not show up in
Picture
Manger. What gives? And which area is it that is used for a
screensaver?
That is how she knew something was off when pictures she deleted from
My
Pictures were still being shown in her screensaver (which is set to
show
slideshow from My Pictures) and we discovered the pictures were not in
her
My
Pictures folder, but showed up in Picture Manager when we opened that
up.
Why aren't they connected? Thank you.
