I did not do that (below) and after writing this I removed the kodak program
and rebooted. The type went back to normal and the program was gone. BTW, the
latest version of this Easyshare (6.X I believe) can be uninstalled using the
normal Control Panal - Remove, since it is listed. Some people in other
threads were having trouble with uninstalling some versions. Maybe Kodak made
that difficult on purpose. This program is close to being as much a problem
as some adware programs. When you send pictures it sends ads to the party
getting the pictures. They want people to buy their products. Kind of sneaky
and I didn't want people feeling that it was me asking them to buy pictures
that I sent to them.
Thanks for the help on here.
One more question though. I made the default picture opening program the
Windows View Pictures and Fax (I think that is the name). The only other one
I liked for simply looking was the Microsoft Office Picture Viewer. That
seems better. Is there any favorite program, among the community, for simply
viewing pictures taken, received or downloaded?

I just tried to post and think it was lost, but if this==========================
is a dupe. I am sorry. The instructions were excellent
here as my problem was the same. Too bad Kodak does not
have the confidence in its product to give us a choice as
to whether or not we want to make easyshare the default
vierer. If they do, it is hidden some place.
My files are still all of the TYPE EASYSHARE.JPG and
that includes ones changed by EASYSHARE. On XP
Professional is their a way to change them all back to
simply JPG or whatever. I can change the name and
extension, but the TYPE does not change when I bring up
the files.
Now, I hope that I can remove EASYSHARE once and for all.
It is not the worst program, but sending my pictures with
ads to buy Kodak products should be my choice and Kodak
will have to give me a cut if I choose to send them that
way.
Well, any answer as to change the type will be
appreciated. Thanks, George.
