Re: How do I get control back from Adobe?

Thanks John,

Though I had forgotten this was where there were more settings, whatever one
sets the drive to in My Computer/Properties, Adobe buts in before any other
action you select gets started. It is very annoying, because it starts so
quick but then takes some time to cancel.

Any more ideas anyone?

Regards,

Steve

Hi all,

Since installing Photoshop Elements 3, I find that it has
commandeered the usb sockets and opens everytime I plug
anything in that has pictures on it. This occurs even
though I have 'file types' set to open jpg files with
picture and fax viewer. Can't find any settings for this in the Adobe
pain in the
arse, help files or 'properties', and don't know exactly
which files are responsible for the commandeering.

PE3 takes for ever to load, and I generally find all I
need in ms Photo Editor, or just plain Windows Explorer
anyway, so how do I turn it off and reserve it for the
rare occasion when I need to do some layering? Cheers,

Something to try...

Go to...My Computer...

Right click the icon for the drive in question. For example...a card
reader may be listed as:
Removable Disk (E:)
(if you have a multi-card reader you may have several...E, F, G, etc)

Choose....Properties / Autoplay tab.

Open the Content Type drop window and choose Pictures.

Left click the "Restore Defaults" button / Apply / OK.
