Thanks for all of these excellent suggestions. I knew I could count on you
all for some intelligent advice.

Using WindowsXP-Pro, Media Center Version. Sorry, everybody, I know this
problem does not belong to this group but I cannot find anywhere else to
turn. I went to a birthday party yesterday, took photos and wanted to
set up a small website to share the photos. I had heard about Picasa so I
thought I would try it. I did not realize it was going to download EVERY
.JPEG on my computer to the Picasa program; which includes knitting
instructions, tax forms, medicine orders, etc., alot more stuff than just
photos. I thought I could just delete a particular file from Picasa and
it would still be in the original folder in my Documents but not so. The
folder was moved to the trash and I had to retrieve it. My questions:
can I uninstall the Picasa program from the Add/Remove and not lose all my
photos? Does anyone have a better program to suggest, a program that does
not just take over the computer?
.
