It's still *very* easy to click on the date-named folder and rename
it to anything you want after the transfer--right?

thats how I do it too.....I dont use the easyshare software, Im using windows wizard each time, just by setting it on the dock and hitting the button. But it was automatically making a subfolder for me with my choice of name....now it isnt. I dont want it to be named by date, and thats the only option I can find. I also dont want to have to make a new folder each time on my own......it was doing it all in the transfer process automatically...I just typed a name..
I have fixed this once before but now I cant remember how.

My 2-cents worth.
I also tried the Easyshare software when I first got my Kodak.
Sending pics from camera to folders via the dock created some godawful messes
with folders and archiving and Easyshare losing "associations" with archived
photos.
I found the easist solution for myself was to not use the dock except for
re-charging.
I plug the camera directly to a USB port and Windows recognizes the camera as a
hard drive.
I can then transfer where I want to and use Digital Image Library for Archiving.
Can also transfer from hard drive back to card on camera if I want take it into
Wal-Mart for printing while I'm over having a beer.
If you uninstall the Easyshare software completely, Windows recognizes the
camera as removable storage.
I prefer it as a hard drive because of the Wal-Mart reason above.
I don't want to send them in via internet 'cause I have to wait for them to mail
me the prints.
I don't get to town much<g>

How about right-clicking on the sub-folder, select rename and then just rename it.

Going nuts here.....I have a kodak easy share camera and dock. Always before, I set the camera on the dock, hit a button on the dock and it started the wizard... It would ask me what I wanted to name the pictures and I would type for example CATS. The wizard would automatically make a new folder called CATS in my pictures...
Now it asks me to name the pictures but it drops them directly into MY PICTURES...not in a sub-folder. So now I have pictures named CATS, CATS02, CATS03, etc, but not a folder named CATS.
I went to windows help and it says : Each time you transfer photos from your digital camera, Windows XP creates a new area, or subfolder, within My Pictures to contain them. BUT HOW DO I GET IT TO MAKE A SUB-FOLDER WITH MY CHOICE OF NAME??? I know it can do this because I have been doing it since Christmas....it just stopped!!!!
