Forget what I said about formatting the CD-R...
It's not possible...I blame my incorrect statement on temporary insanity.

Your best option would be to create a new disk that contains the files you wish to keep.

A CD-R cannot be erased.

You could format the disk but that
will make the entire contents
inaccessible.

CD-Rs are very inexpensive...why
not just trash it and create a new disk?
You could copy the files you wish to
keep to a folder on your hard drive,
and burn them on a new disk.
