Connect the camera to the computer and turn the power on.
Then booth the computer and see if it recognizes the camera.

Hi, I used to be able to just 'plug and play', now i can't, when i connect
the camera to the computer, i get the ding-dong sound, but nothing in the
task bar, or when i goto 'my computer' there's nothing their either, i've
tried uninstalling/reinstalling the software provided by Canon.
I don't use real player 10.
I have the latest Nero drivers.
I've tried different devices to the same usb port, and the camera to other
usb ports, but it's only the camera it's not recognising
I took my camera to a friends, connected it useing the same usb cable and
it
worked fine, 'pluged and played' just like i used to be able to.
Any help most welcome.
Thank-you
