I have never worked with ME, so I don't know.
But all is not lost, you can reduce the size of the thumbnails to something
she will prefer.
Go to this site and download the free TweakUI.exe into one of your folders.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
Once in the folder, double click on the file to install it.
Once installed, Click on Start and All programs.
You will see Powertoys for Windows XP listed there. Open it and click on
TweakUI for XP.
A window will open. Click on the + sign at the left of Explorer to open it
and click on Thumbnails.
The default size is 96, change it to 50 and see if this works or her.
You can try the free Picasa 2 from here:
www.picasa.com
This is what I have on my wife's computer.
She just click on the Picasa icon on her desktop and she can see all the
thumbnails of all the photos on her hard drive. No need to open any folder,
she can just scroll through all of them, or use the time line do display in
chronological order. Also quite easy to make special albums or collections
of pictures from various folders. If you spend about 1 hour with it to
understand the features, your mother may like this little toy.
