The Microsoft PTP driver only supports deleting images from the camera if
the camera's firmware supports the delete picture command. There are some
known issues with some Sony cameras. I would check with Sony and see if
there is a firmware update for your camera. Here's the firmware update page
for Cybershot camera's:
http://ciscdb.sel.sony.com/cgi-bin/swu-index.pl
The PTP driver is a limited driver, so it only can support what the firmware
on the camera supports. Here's more information on the PTP driver itself:

Hope this helps!

One thing its capable of is not letting the MemoryStick get formatted in FAT format. On further exploration, I found an application called PTP Manager by ImageMixer on the supplied ImageMixer CD. I tried to install it but it gives the following error message: > > "PTP Manager cannot be installed in the current version of Windows." > > Im thinking to myself what....? The FAQ section in the www.imagemixer.com site is very vague: they say that PTP Manager is compatible with all versions of windows, but there might be a conflict with something on my PC. I'm thinking maybe the Scanner & Camera Wizard or Device Manager. > > All the other apps on the CD work fine, and considering that all setup.inx files are more or less the same size it should work. I'm thinking if i can install PTP manager then I "should" be able to erase pix on the camera from the PC and get the PC to actually "see" camera info. > > Sorry....
