      Thanks for the reply.

    I did not mention that at one time all of the pictures that I cannot now display from the Harddrive were could be viewed from the harddrive. Therefore, this is not a battery or camera connection problem. The link you provided was for Nikon cameras. I have a Canon. But again I do not think that it is a camera problem because the pictures all made it to the hardrive and could be displayed from there.

    Any other ideas?

         I'm thinking this occurs when the images are being
         downloaded from a digital camera. If the batteries
         get too weak or if the USB cable is disconnected too
         quicky the complete file is not downloaded.
