Error Messages Received

I've been having problems with my Acer Aspire 3624WXCi laptop for quite
awhile now. I've spent many nights reading, learning and pretty much
dissecting ANY and EVERY probable cause(s) that would apply here.
After cleaning up then, removing the obvious malware, after researching my
Errors and Warnings in the System and Application logs in my Event Viewer, I
believe I've finally got one pinpointed to this very issue.
I've got EXACTLY the same Symptoms/Error Messages/Event ID 7023, etc., but
with a slight twist;
Instead of the "Windows 2000/Task Scheduler not running" scenario addressed
in Article ID 935641
: "Error message when you use Computer Management after you upgrade the
computer to Windows Server 2003: "Snap-in failed to init." - I've got
Windows XP Home Edition, and have NO Task Manager. Can't find 'm anywhere.
I've searched for the past couple weeks along with digging deep here at MS
Help/Support for a solution.
I'm hoping this will work for XP but I'm not about to do anything drastic
unless I'm able to get feedback on this. Some kind of confirmation that this
is possible. Any advice would be most appreciative.
Meanwhile, whilst I wait, there's a couple other things on my pc that need
my attention first.
Does anyone relate to this? Can ANYone help?
Rebecca
