I am using the mouse that came with my Dell desktop. It uses the standard
serial mouse 5.1.2600.0 driver.
I have checked the box that tells the mouse to disappear while I type but it
won't disappear. It is kind of a challenge to type with the cursor in the
way. I've tried changing my cursor and that hasn't helped. My mouse says it
is working perfectly.
Thank you in advance for any help.
Click Start >> Control panel >> Printers and other Hardware, click on the
Mouse.
On Mouse properties click on this tab:

[ ] Hide pointer while typing
Check this box.
[ ] Show location of pointer when I press CTRL key.
Don't check this check box.
Click [Apply ] then [OK]. Does it help.
If the above doesn't help try to uncheck this box:
[ ] Hide pointer while typing click [OK] Reboot your machine then go to
the mouse properties and check it.
