Re: New install: PC won't go into Sleep mode

Hi Shenan,

No, my PC was taken away by 'retail PC engineers' out here in Asia, as the
errors I was getting were beyond my knowledge boundary.

Returned, I had the functioning OS (reinstalled), and am now patching up
into my data which seems to all be there still. I understand that all the
drivers you mentioned were reinstalled (I am working from the PC in question
now). Just this 'accounts' thing is what is throwing me, as I have never had
accounts on my PC before (I am the only one who uses it).

That is won't Sleep as it believes other accounts are open is the problem I
suppose. I can't see what else is open, and nothing else should be open (I
don't want this Accounts kerfuffle in the first place, just a smooth boot-up,
and close to sleep-mode (as and when).

Thx

So, did they perform a clean install or Repair of the operating system?
It is normal for the error message to come up if you installed the DotNet
framework on this machine.

Another to try is to click Start >> Control Panel >> User Accounts >> Click
on Change the way the user log on or off. Then make sure the check box for :
[ ] Use fast user switching is checked.

Reboot your machine and try to log in then log of and see if the warning
message will appear again!

What Service pack this machine have installed on it?
