Further to earlier post, I seem to have fixed the problem by turning off
automatic windows up-dates and simultaneously doing a system restore to 2
October. My theory is that some Windows update since that date caused the
problem and my solution will be to re-introduce the updates since that date
one-by-one to discover which update is the culprit. Hope this helps.

I am seeing the same problem. When the PC is started and first looged onto.
by a "user" it works fine for that user. However, when that user is logged
off and the "administrator" tries to log on, the PC hangs and has to be reset
or restarted. This is new problem and I suspect it has started since
downloading Service Pack 3, although I have no direct evidence to support
that.
I plan to in-install SP3 and to turn off automatic updates for a while to
see if that solves it. In the meantime, any advice would be appreciated.

Hi.
My pc has begun hanging when we try logging on a second user.
From the page with the list of all users we come to the usual page with the
selected user shown, while this user's personal settings are loaded. But the
usual text telling, that the personal settings are being loaded, is not shown
and nothing else happens - the pc hangs. We can't go back, so the only option
is to shut down the pc using the power-button (press and hold for approx. 3
sec.).
Can anyone help?
