From your answer one answer probably explains your problem. You need toadd RAM. 248 mb is not enough you need to increase it to 512 mb. This is
evident from the Total and Peak exceeding the installed RAM.
What is your computer make and model?
You did not answer this question?
I would be interested in seeing a Disk Defragmenter report . Open Disk
Defragmenter and click on Analyse. Select View Report and click on Save
As and Save. Now find VolumeD.txt in your My Documents Folder and post a
copy. Do this before running Disk Defragmenter as it is more
informative.

Hope this helps.

Housekeeping here is a weekly event. Poor housekeeping will
contribute
to poor system performance but it is only one of a number of possible
contributory factors.
What is the CPU speed? how will i know this? is it 3.00 GHZ? Intel
Pentium 4
How much RAM? 248MB
Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?
total 435932
limit 620212
peak 463776
You should be able to gather more information from Task Manager. With
the Processes tab open select View, Select, Columns and check the
boxes before Peak Memory Usage and Virtual Memory size. What are the
figures
for the 6 processes using the largest amounts?
(no browser/programs/applications except task manager)
avgrsx-16964K
incdsrv.exe-4096k
explorer.exe-5980k
svchost.exe-7388k
avgwdsvc.exe-2840k
taskmgr.exe-1940k
Do you leave your computer on 24/7? NO. average hours per day use
8-10 hours.
