I have just recently purchased a Nvidia MCP73 model Mobo w/an Intel Pentium
E2200 2.20GHz Dual-Core. I'v noticed lately that I have a noise coming
from
my case. I've disconnected everything (HDs, CPU fan and system fan) one by
one and restarted the system everytime. After every restart the noise
persisted. The only thing that I can think of that's left in the case, has
to
be the CPU. Is my conclusion correct or it's not possible for CPUs to make
irritating noises? And >IF< I am correct, what does that mean as far as
the
health of the CPU? ALSO---> At times... The noise subsides for moments at
a
time. Could be anywhere from a few minutes to hours. Afterwards, the noise
starts up all over again.

Can anyone out there give me some CPU info? THANX N ADVANCE!!

You disconnected the CPU fan and booted? Strange noises aside, that might
not have done the CPU much good...

Do you have a disc in the CD/DVD drive that could be spinning up and down?
