If you turn System Restore off and then ack on again does that get rid
of item 1. Restore points with virus in are of no value.

Hope this helps.

I have isolated two infected files as a result of running the virus
program. They are:
1. A0053961.exe, location - C:\System Volume Information\_restore,
Virus-Win 32:
Adware-g...
2. kmd133_en.exe, location - C:\Program Files\KaZaA\My Shared
Folder, Virus - Win 32: Adware-g...
Can you advise me if these files can be removed or is it wise to wait
for some time to ensure this causes no problem? I have not noticed
any difference but do not have the expertise to actually know if
their absence has caused a problem.
I have a Dell Dimension 4100 Desktop computer with Windows XP - Home
Edition - Operating System - Service Pack 2, Pentium 111 with 930
MHZ, 20 GB Hard Drive and 512 MB of RAM. The file system is FAT 32.
Many thanks for your co-operation and advice.
