What is D? Is it a second hard drive, a second partition on a hard
drive, an external drive or something else?
Have you run Disk CleanUp first? Might help.

When starting up a blue screen appears staing that itis Checking file
system on D. I allowed this to run the first time it happened and it
appeared to be OK. However it now comes back every time I start up
and I can't prevent it from Reappearing each time.
I tried to defragment this Drive but was unable to do so as a window
comes up stating that I need to run CHKDSK /f.
But it will not let me do this.
Can anyone offer advice on how to stop it appearing at start up and
allow me to defragment
.
