First - I suggest you go through the common shutdown issues:

After that - make sure your hardware drivers are the latest offered by
Toshiba from their web page.

Last - make sure that the machine is *as clean* as you can get it - as
Toshiba laptops seem to be dust-traps and the heat that dust can trap can
cause issues you just would not expect. You may even have to take it in for
a cleaning - if you are unsure of your technical abilities with such
things... (Either way - make sure you have GOOD and CURRENT backups of your
files - in case things don't go as planned.)

Remind me never to get into a verbal conversation with you where you are
telling a story, I ask you a question - and so - you start the story over -
putting the answer *in* the story. *grin*

It's easier - when engaged in a conversation/thread - to answer the
questions asked as they are asked instead of starting a new
conversation/thread elsewhere. It can be annoying for those who read (not
just view) these questions each day to see your question repeated and unread
in the same or many different newsgroups (which brings up an unrelated topic
of multi-posting/cross-posting) - and many times, those who might have
answered you will ignore the question in frustration or in the possibly
mistaken state-of-mind that you are either a spammer or might be difficult
to work with.

Know that - unless specified - newsgroup posts may be indefinitely archived
as well. So having identical posts by one author floating around with a few
words changed here and there could make future searches difficult for those
who do a proper search for an answer before asking questions...
