Re: Laptop Battery Problem.... **Pleaseeeeeeee help**

Sometimes the most obvious things are the easiest to overlook. Are the
cooling vents clear? Do you use the lappy on a hard surface? If you use it
on a thick carpet, or even the, er, softness of your lap, it can block the
vents.

Without knowing more, I'd say the power supply charging unit (inside the
laptop) has a problem that is making it hot. One reason would be that
your battery has gone bad and is in need of replacement. Another is that
part of the charging circuit isn't working or is shorted enough to cause
heat. I'd also shop around for a diagnostic shop that will at least tell
you what the problem is without charging you an arm and/or leg.

Hey guys!

Well.. I bought my laptop just over a year ago. About 1yr 4mths I think..
Ever since I got it, the battery life was only about 30mins max and
underneath the laptop (where the windows sticker is) gets extremely hot..
so hot I've never been able to actually use it as a 'lap' top hehe

As of recently I've only been able to use the laptop on battery for about
17mins!
This is so frustrating

Then.. last week, I went to start it up.. things seemed to go fine until
it reached the windows sign in screen, I couldn't move the curser (it
kept stalling) and I couldn't enter a password.
So I instantly thought maybe there was some kind of a problem with the
keyboard etc..
Called PC World and they said it would cost £120.. Which I'm definitely
not going to pay! So I resigned to the fact that the lappy was bust and
continued to use my boyfriends PC for work.

Then I took the battery out (dunno why).. but it started up as normal and
everything seems fine.
Although the really really hot part underneath is still as hot as ever...
What could this be?

Hope to hear from ya's soon!
Thanks in advance..
